Trampoline Hall is a monthly lecture series in which three guest speakers lecture about a topic they are not an expert in. The events were always sold out. For one performance, the organizers and I arranged a special installation: instead of buying a ticket, participants needed to sit for a portrait at an art gallery at specific times, a week prior to the show. All 120 pictures were assembled into a 20×24 poster which we printed just in time for the show. When each audience member arrived, they could simply point to themselves on the poster and say “that’s me, let me in.” The face was the ticket, in other words. Each participant received a copy of the poster as part of the entry fee.
